Long House Studios is a venture that has emerged out of my life long love of Kentmere, art, and teaching. What could be more more perfect than to combine the things that I love and hope to help others enjoy them too.

I studied Fine Art at The Ruskin School of Fine Art, Oxford University and The Royal Academy Schools in London. From there I travelled to Norway on a government scholarship, finding inspiration in the light and wilds of the islands and fjords. I have exhibited in London (Rebecca Hossack Gallery) and Europe and I am also a passionate  teacher. There is nothing I love more than to help students to grow in confidence and find their voice. As well as teaching at The Royal Drawing School in London, on their adult Public Programme and their MA course, I have also taught young people in and out of schools. Until July 2023 I was Head of Art in a secondary school, preparing students for GCSE, A Level, and successful applications to art schools around the country and abroad.

I would love to be able to help you on your own journey of drawing discovery!

I am married to the artist Ian Frith-Powell- click here to see his website.

We have five rather grown up children, some of whom have turned out to be even more creative than we are!
